Tips & Tricks
Here are Top 5 Essential Wedding Planning Tips & Tricks!
- Tighten up that guest list!
Work out who you want to invite before you start looking for a venue! If you haven’t considered a budget yet, know that most weddings can get pretty pricey! If budget is a consideration, have a real conversation about what that number is before narrowing down a guest list, or start with a guest list, and widdle down from there! - Set a venue and date.
Hopefully after you’ve got your guest list, you can start to plan the venue and date out, far enough in advance to give your guests time to RSVP, but not too far that your guests completely forget about it! Save-the-Date cards may work here, but that’s no guarantee! Wedding Wire has a great primer for all those ready to take the plunge! - Choose vendors wisely!
Choosing vendors and services from reputable businesses is the key to a successful wedding and reception! Going with a mass-market company may ensure you get standardized items and services, while going with a hobbyist planner, photographer, or DJ and saving a little money might have you rolling the dice. However, going with someone who’s been in the business for years, and is well-loved and known to throw a great party (Like For The People Entertainment–a seasoned professional company), you will get quality & service for a fair and competitive price! - Be realistic with your timing.
It always pays to plan things out in advance, but planning things out to the minute might be overkill. Remember: it’s your day to take & soak everything in, and give yourself some breathing room. Rely on your vendors and venue, it’s what you’re paying them for! - Budget wisely and be ready with gratuity.
Have your payment and tips ready in advance, and let your best man, maid of honor, or father of the bride take care of the bills so you don’t have to! The Knot has a great guide on tipping for most types of weddings.
